6 Week Athletic Training Block

Athletic Training blocks can be set for either 2, 3, or 4 sessions per week. Session length is approximately 80 to 90 minutes.
Program will be individually designed specific to sport, position, present conditioning, short and long-term goals, along with strengthening any weak points discovered during pre training athletic screening or during the training session.
Along with pre block screening, Testing will be included. Test will be specific to sport.

    Example: [Football]

  • Vertical Leap
  • 20 yard Shuttle
  • Broad Jump
  • 40-yard dash [weather permitting]
  • Max Strength [3 reps] depending on client.
  • Athlete will be retested periodically.




Testing and screening is included as part of the program and will not be counted as a session.



    Typical protocol for weekly sessions will include:

  • Dynamic Warm up with hip mobility and flexibility. May include static stretching of hips to be sure athlete is well balanced and prepared.
  • Running form with acceleration/ deceleration drills.
  • Game Speed, Footwork, and Plyometrics.
  • Med ball throws.
  • Strength Training that will be designed to improve the three power lifts [squat, bench, deadlift] and any weakness that will improve sport performance.
  • Conditioning with combinations of sled’s and strongman.

    Day 1
  • Max Lower body

  • Day 2
  • Repetition Upper and conditioning.

  • Day 3
  • Dynamic Lower [Plyometrics, Cleans, various Box Jumps] along with quickness and speed drills.

  • Day 4
  • Max Upper body [explosive med-ball throws] conditioning specific.

  • 60 sit-ups in 1 min.

  • 1700 lb. total Raw at IPA meet Dec. 2010
  • Set world record in 242-weight class in the Deadlift [700].


  • Chelsi Figley: Paralympic Bench Press
  • Ranked # 10 in the world in 123 weight class.
  • Recently bench-pressed 175 at USAPL Ohio championships.
